Summer Reading Recommendations

College kids are home; primary and secondary schools are concluding their year; birds are chirping; and warm sunny days are present. You know what that means… summer is here!  Vacations, beach visits, and lazy days afford us the leeway to throttle back and appreciate the fruits of our labor. Taking time for oneself, family, and friends is what makes life enjoyable.

A favored pastime is the poolside or beachside read. Finding a story to escape in, learn something new, or reflect on yourself always seems to offer the opportunity to recharge your personal batteries. The various genres and vast number of books can paralyze a book selection. We hope this short list may help narrow your search.

The second recommendation blends mystery and fantasy, bringing the reader into a rabbit hole of wonder. The Measure has the potential to be a great Hollywood movie. The Measure is a story about strangers invited to escape their mundane existence in a turbulent world to find the interconnectedness of their decisions. As you follow the characters, you’ll find yourself reflecting on your own life choices. In the end, The Measure is an uplifting story about family and friends living life to the fullest.
